The Third Hour
#42. Hebrews, Part One: Pantocrator
Mosaic of Jesus as Pantocrator, Hagia Sophia, 886-912
Nestled within the Epistle to the Hebrews is one of the Bible's greatest mysteries. Although it represents some of the finest writing in the entire New Testament, featuring educated language, a developed Christology, and concise rhetorical arguments, the epistle itself is anonymous. On the Third Hour Podcast, we discuss the first six chapters of this landmark work, including possible authors, what it represents to Christianity and Latter-day Saints, and the ways it portrays Jesus Christ.
As always, we invite you to study along with us! Below is a handy description of the passages found within this episode.
Next week, we'll be finishing Hebrews.
